Our Story

Mantra Vega is a new transatlantic progressive rock band from Heather Findlay and Dave Kerzner (founding members of the bands Mostly Autumn and Sound of Contact respectively) along with Chris Johnson (Halo Blind/Mostly Autumn), Stu Fletcher (We Could Be Astronauts), Alex Cromarty (Mostly Autumn) and featuring legendary guitarist David Kilminster (Roger Waters/Steven Wilson).
Melding together their wide range of styles and influences in Progressive, Classic and Alternative Rock, Mantra Vega offers a fresh blend of female and male lead vocals and harmonies which deliver many a poignant message dressed in atmospheric soundscapes, emotional dynamics and captivating moods. With Heather Findlay's expansive vocals which range from pure and angelic to raw and powerful, to the lush and intricate keys, guitars and sound design of Dave Kerzner and Chris Johnson, to soaring guitar leads and licks from Dave Kilminster, all sailing the soulful groove of the Cromarty/Fletcher rhythm section, there's something for fans of artists like Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac, Yes, The Beatles, Sigur Ros and more.
Together Kerzner and Findlay offer a songwriting pact, which is nothing short of magical. With their retro-fresh soundscapes and each song a message, Mantra Vega are set to deliver something very special to the world in the much anticipated debut album "The Illusion's Reckoning" which scheduled for release in autumn 2015. 
From which the band released the first single "Island" on June 22nd 2015.

Heather Findlay, co-founder of Mantra Vega, is a multi-award-winning singer/songwriter from York, England. She is best known for her work with the band “Mostly Autumn” for which she fronted for 13 years as vocalist and co-writer of their first 8 studio albums. She is also known for her solo debut record The Phoenix Suite, Songs From The Old Kitchen and enjoying offshoot projects with former Mostly Autumn bandmates Angela Gordon (Odin Dragonfly) and Chris Johnson. Over the years, Heather has worked with such notable artists as Richie Blackmore, Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, John Wetton, Pip Williams. Arjen Lucassen, John Mitchell and Steve Hogarth on the Lonely Robot project and more. Her role in Mantra Vega is lead vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, percussionist and wind player. Dave Kerzner (aka “Squids”), co-founder of Mantra Vega, is a producer, songwriter, vocalist, keyboardist and sound designer from Miami. He is best known as co-founder of the award-winning progressive rock band “Sound of Contact”, having co-written and produced their celebrated album “Dimensionaut” and more recently as a solo artist with his acclaimed debut concept album “New World”.  Over the years, Dave has worked with artists such as Kevin Gilbert, Steve Hackett, Keith Emerson, Alan Parsons, Genesis, Francis Dunnery, Joe Lynn Turner, Billy Sherwood, Jon Anderson, Steven Wilson, Shankar and more. Chris Johnson 

Chris Johnson is a singer, songwriter, producer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist from York, England. He is the founding member of the band Halo Blind which has released two albums including 2014’s acclained “Occupying Forces”. Chris and Heather have released a duo album called “Live At Café 68”. Over the years Chris has worked with such bands as Heather Findlay Band, Mostly Autumn and Fish (ex Marillion). He is currently on tour as guitarist with Mostly Autumn. Dave Kilminster  

Dave Kilminster (aka “Killer”) is one of the world’s top guitarists. He is best known for his work touring on one of the highest grossing tours of all time with Roger Waters (ex Pink Floyd) for Dark Side of the Moon – Live and The Wall – Live. Dave has released several solo albums including 2014’s celebrated “… and THE TRUTH will set you free…”. Over the years, Kilminster has also worked with such notable artists as John Wetton, Geoff Downes, Keith Emerson, Carl Palmer and more. Dave is currently on the road playing guitar with Steven Wilson for the “Hand. Cannot. Erase. Tour”. Having played with Heather before in the Heather Findlay Band, it is an honor to have such a sought after musician as Dave back in the fold as the featured guitarist with Mantra Vega.
