With their retro-fresh soundscapes and each song a message, Mantra Vega are set to deliver something very special to the world in the much anticipated debut album "The Illusion's Reckoning" which scheduled for release in autumn 2015.
From which the band released the first single "Island" on June 22nd 2015.
Heather Findlay, co-founder of Mantra Vega, is a multi-award-winning singer/songwriter from York, England. She is best known for her work with the band “Mostly Autumn” for which she fronted for 13 years as vocalist and co-writer of their first 8 studio albums. She is also known for her solo debut record The Phoenix Suite, Songs From The Old Kitchen and enjoying offshoot projects with former Mostly Autumn bandmates Angela Gordon (Odin Dragonfly) and Chris Johnson. Over the years, Heather has worked with such notable artists as Richie Blackmore, Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, John Wetton, Pip Williams. Dave Kerzner (aka “Squids”), co-founder of Mantra Vega, is a producer, songwriter, vocalist, keyboardist and sound designer from Miami. He is best known as co-founder of the award-winning progressive rock band “Sound of Contact”, having co-written and produced their celebrated album “Dimensionaut” and more recently as a solo artist with his acclaimed debut concept album “New World”. Over the years, Dave has worked with artists such as Kevin Gilbert, Steve Hackett, Keith Emerson, Alan Parsons, Genesis, Francis Dunnery, Joe Lynn Turner, Billy Sherwood, Jon Anderson, Steven Wilson, Shankar and more. Chris Johnson is a singer, songwriter, producer, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist from York, England. He is the founding member of the band Halo Blind which has released two albums including 2014’s acclained “Occupying Forces”. Chris and Heather have released a duo album called “Live At Café 68”. Over the years Chris has worked with such bands as Heather Findlay Band, Mostly Autumn and Fish (ex Marillion). He is currently on tour as guitarist with Mostly Autumn. Dave Kilminster (aka “Killer”) is one of the world’s top guitarists. He is best known for his work touring on one of the highest grossing tours of all time with Roger Waters (ex Pink Floyd) for Dark Side of the Moon – Live and The Wall – Live. Dave has released several solo albums including 2014’s celebrated “… and THE TRUTH will set you free…”. Over the years, Kilminster has also worked with such notable artists as John Wetton, Geoff Downes, Keith Emerson, Carl Palmer and more. Dave is currently on the road playing guitar with Steven Wilson for the “Hand. Cannot. Erase. Tour”. Having played with Heather before in the Heather Findlay Band, it is an honor to have such a sought after musician as Dave back in the fold as the featured guitarist with Mantra Vega. Alex Cromarty is a drummer, guitarist, vocalist and percussionist from York, England. Known for his unique passion and feel behind the kit, Alex has traveled the world to play with artists such as Heather Findlay Band, Mostly Autumn, Pip Williams, Dave Kerzner, Elliot Randall and more. Alex is currently on tour playing drums with Mostly Autumn and Halo Blind. His role in Mantra Vega is the band’s drummer, providing a vital core rhythm section with Stu Fletcher. Stuart Fletcher is one of the top recording and performing bass players in England. As bassist with The Seahorses, he had a UK number one album with three UK top 10 singles and toured the world opening for the likes of The Rolling Stones, U2, The Verve, Beck and Oasis. Stuart has also played bass with The Happy Mondays, Rick Witter, The Yards, Halo Blind, Chris Helme and his own band We Could Be Astronauts among others.
